5 Months

Here we are, 5 Months!!

Mollie had an eventful 5th Month.  We had her first Thanksgiving and spent a whole weekend of late nights partying with family and friends, she started eating solids (cereal), she loves to drink water from a cup (she mainly slobbers in the cup but still swallows some), she is rolling all over the place; front to back and back to front, she loves playing with her feet while on her back, she is starting to reach for and feel everything, and everything that can be held in her hands goes in her mouth, she has quite the temper that is starting to surface, and for now it makes me laugh but I know one day it won't be so funny, AND she experienced her first shopping trip with mom.  =)  We spent a couple days in the Valley with our awesome friends, the Pulsiphers, and did some Christmas shopping.  She was a trooper too, she loved just chillin in her stroller, observing everything around her.  She even got tons of compliments from random people including a guy from New York who told us she was the prettiest girl he had seen in AZ so far....and then told Lorin and I we do good work, what can I say I am one proud Mom of this little girl.

Now on to 2 Christmas Parties and her first Christmas.  Can't wait!

Dec 1st

On the 1st there were Christmas festivities going on around town.  They had all kinds of food and fun at the Old Court House all day including Santa, so we had to take Mollie down to get her first picture with him.

She didn't even cry.  She just licked his hand....right after this picture was taken to be exact.  She cracks us up, always licking things.  After that we hung out with friends and watched some of the entertainment.

We headed home around 4ish to eat dinner and get ready for the Parade of Lights.  I love this picture of Mollie all bundle up and ready to party.

Grandma and Grandpa met us downtown to watch the Parade, and Mollie's cousin McKayla was with us too.  And of course we had to bring Rocky.

Mollie fell asleep right as the Parade was starting and woke up right when it ended, go figure.  Even though she missed it we still had so much fun.  I know I keep saying this but I love this time of yr and even more now with a baby.

This was my attempt to take a mother/daughter picture but Lorin was his silly self and had to make an appearance.  I love Mollie's face in this picture too.   =)

I love our little family

After the Parade ended we headed over to the Catholic Center to the Festival of Trees, to finish off the night.  It was such a fun day and I'm looking forward to all the other things we have planned for the month.

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving and it was so fun to have Mollie with us this yr. What a difference the holidays make when you have a child.  We spent the day with my family at my sisters house in Snowflake, then spent the evening playing games at Lorin's brother's house.

The rest of the weekend was filled with more food, family, friends and games.

4 Months

Interesting fact.  On 11-13-2011 I was exactly 5 weeks pregnant and on 11-13-2012 Mollie was exactly 4 months old.

Mollie had her 4 Month check up today and she was 13lbs 2oz and 24 inches long!  She was supposed to get her 4 month vaccinations as well however they have to be exactly 2 months apart and her last ones were done on 9/17 so we have to wait until Monday.  I was ready to get it over with.

I love being home with this beautiful girl and getting to watch her grow and learn everyday.  She is so happy all the time and it makes me happy too!  She has started laughing, and its so awesome.  I try to make her laugh as much as possible.  She smiles non stop, especially at her daddy.  Just look at that smile (above), doesn't it just melt your heart?

She rolled over for the first time the other day, and it took both her and I by surprise.  I knew she was getting close, I thought for sure it would be from her back to belly first but nope.  I had her on her tummy the other night and next thing I knew she rolled right over to her back.  Sweet.

She pretty much sleeps through the night, and has for a while, with a few exceptions of waking up in the early am.  But even then she eats and goes right back to sleep.  She has also officially started taking naps in her crib instead of her bassinnet.  She seems to nap better in her crib which is nice but it makes me sad at the same time because that means she is growing up.  Hopefully napping in her crib will help the transition for when she starts sleeping in her crib at night.

One last thing to note is this girl slobbers like crazy!!  Seriously!  I'm pretty sure she does not swallow one drop of spit, it all runs out of her mouth right down her chin.  She has this new thing where she sticks out her tongue and spits (see the 2nd and 3rd pics below) and that causes even more slobber to come out. Silly girl.

Other then that it is life as usual for us.  We try to go for walks, when the weather is good of course, we read books and sing songs, we play with toys.  She loves to watch TV, she gets so into it.....just like her Dad....lol!!  She likes to chill in her bumbo with me while I'm in the kitchen cooking dinner or washing dishes.  When I lay her on the couch to change her diaper she loves to lay there and play with her feet.  I've also found she loves to be naked, I guess its that freedom we all love of being naked right??

I'm so happy that she grows and learns everyday, and I get excited about the milestones she is reaching but I want her to stay my baby forever....I love this stage that she is in right now and I don't want her to grow up.  I guess that's why you have more kids right??  Someday, someday.  I love my little Mollie bug so much!

And now I can't wait for the Holidays, especially her first Christmas!

Halloween

Mollie's first Halloween was uneventful, we didn't go Trick or Treating, but I still had to snap some pictures of her and document on the Blog because someday I will make a blog book of Mollie's first yr, someday.....

Pumpkin Patch

I'm so bummed because we usually hit up the pumpkin path with the Gardner's and Miller's but this year things were crazy for all of our families so we couldn't go together.  But of course we had to take Mollie to pick some pumpkins.

The day started off beautiful but by the time we got to Snowflake in the afternoon the wind had picked up....A Lot..... so it made for a not fun day.  We hurried and picked pumpkins, took some pictures, paid and left.  Ugh I HATE the wind.

We carried on with tradition afterwards and went to Trappers for lunch and pie.

Despite the wind it was still fun, and lunch was good.  My sister also went with us so we got to catch up with her.

Utah

Last week I got to go to Utah with my Mom to visit her sister, who I havent seen in ages.  I loaded up Mollie and Rocky and headed North.  Mollie did awesome on the trip, I was worried about her but it turned out fine.  Rocky also did good.

We stopped in Monticello, at the Park, on the way up, to take a break and have lunch.  It was beautiful there with all of the trees changing.  Monticello is the town where my Dad was born and raised, so that place is very familiar to us, I spent a lot of time there growing up and my Uncle still lives there.

We made it safe and sound late in the afternoon, and spent the rest of the week just relaxing a lot and catching up.

My Aunt has a dog (Maggie - not pictured) that Rocky wanted to play with but she was an old grouchy thing and wouldn't play so he played with her toys instead.

Mollie and I and Rocky went on a lot of walks.

There is also a beautiful running/walking trail right by my Aunts house that I ran on in the mornings and ran into some deer one morning.

We went to Price a couple of times to do some shopping (Wal-Mart).  I bought Mollie some new toys and she loved them all so much she didn't know which one to play with first.

We went out to eat while out and about and Mollie was very entertaining during our meals.

We also went to see my Grandparents house in Price where my Mom and Aunt were born and raised.

The house has changed a lot (been remolded by the new owners) but the memories I have there are still the same.  I loved going to my Grandparents house as a little girl.

It was a fun trip and I look forward to going again next yr.  I hope Mollie gets to know her Aunt since she is the only one alive on my Mom's side, my Mom's parents and brother have all passed away.

And now I leave you with one last picture.  This is my Mom and Aunt.  They thought I was taking a picture of Mollie (reverse camera on the iPhone) but I was really taking one of them.  Hehehe......
