4 Months

Miss Hannah-banana is 4 months old!
Weight - 15lbs
Height - 24inches

She is sleeping in her own room now in her crib.  We started off by putting her in her crib for naps then a couple weeks later moved her in there at night too.  So far so good.  Sleeping is still great - mostly sleeps through the night but will wake once in a while for a night feeding.  We have been blessed with very good sleepers.  I also credit a lot of it to the sleep training book "Baby Wise-giving your baby the gift of sleep."  I swear by it, although I now it doesn't work for everyone.

She has such a fun little personality and is so happy all the time.  Her whole face lights up when she smiles.  She is a slobber bug - seriously I didn't know so much slobber could come from a human.

Now we are preparing for Hannah's first Thanksgiving....and I'm excited to not be nauseous this year!

1,2,3 Months

At Hannah's 1 month appt. she was 10.6lbs and 22 inches long.  At her 2 month appt. she was 12.13lbs and 24 inches.  She is such a chunk and we love it!  I can't believe how fast she is growing.

She started rolling over at 2 months.  At first we though it was a fluke but she continued to do it so we knew it was the real deal.  She is sleeping mostly through the night, wakes up once to eat then goes back to sleep.  She has the prettiest eyes that totally light up when she smiles, and her smiles are the best.  She loves to coo and blow raspberries.  She loves to watch her sister run around the house. She is really calm and likes to relax.  She loves to be carried around while we do things throughout the house with her head just chilling on our shoulder.

It has been so new and sometimes overwhelming to have another baby around but we couldn't imagine life without Hannah.  She just fits right in and we love having her around

My girls

Just some awesome pics of my beautiful girls!

Hannah's pregnancy

Since I'm really behind on blogging I'm going to do one post to sum up my pregnancy with Hannah.

First off it was so different from Mollies pregnancy.  I hate to say it but I did not enjoy pregnancy this go around.....at all!  I found out I was pregnant right before Thanksgiving after I had been nauseous for 3 days.  I thought it was just the flu cause I had taken a pregnancy test earlier but it was negative.  I know realize I took the test way too early so of course it was negative.  I was almost 7 weeks when we found out so it was nice to find out a little later then usual.  We busted out the due date calculator and found out we were due on 7-14-14, a day after Mollie's birthday.  So that was pretty exciting!

So here is the deal.  I love having my babies in the summer (less sickness) BUT I hate going through my first trimester during the Holiday's.  I LOVE the Holidays but being sick through them is no fun.  The sights, smells, and sounds make me nauseous.  So once again my first Trimester lasted through Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years and then some.  We found out the baby was a girl when I was 19 weeks, I thought it was going to be a boy but nope, another girl.  I don't think I finally felt normal until about 22 weeks.  From there I had about 6 weeks of feeling awesome.  The rest of the pregnancy I was super tired, achy and big (I felt big at least).  And man was it tough keeping up with a very active toddler being all big and pregnant.

When I was about 35 weeks Hannah was already head down.  At my 36 week check up I was dilated to 1 1/2 and 75% effaced.  I knew when the Doctor told me that I would be having her early, and "they" say your second baby comes earlier.  I was already there with Mollie when I went into labor.  So I came home and packed my hospital bag.  But Hannah had other plans for me and I pretty much stayed right there for the next 4 weeks.  The anticipation was miserable and the Braxton Hicks contractions were getting annoying.  It seemed like every time I started to time them they would go away.

So at my 39 week appointment I set up an induction.  I wanted to go into labor on my own again but I also wanted to make sure Mollie would be taken care of so we scheduled the induction for July 10th at 9:00pm.  My sister came from out of town to watch Mollie and we had everything set to go.  Well the hospital called me about 5:30pm on the 10th (Wed) to tell me they were completely full and my induction was going to be moved to Thursday afternoon.  The nurse said they would call me in the afternoon to let me know when I could come in.  I had a good cry, because I was so ready to have Hannah, then sucked it up and waited.  I decided to call the Hospital Thursday morning to see if they knew anything and they said no and that I would have to wait for someone to call me later.  So about 4:00pm I received my call and the nurse told me they were STILL busy and since my Dr was going out of town for the weekend my induction was being moved to Sunday (the 13th).  I'll spare the details but I was pretty pissed off.....  It was awful to keep getting my hopes up only to have them keep jacking me around, and the pregnancy hormones didn't make it much better.

So I called the Hospital Sunday afternoon and they said I was all clear to come in.  Thanks heavens, I couldn't handle being rescheduled again.  So we got to the Hospital at 8:00pm and started the induction at 9......

Adjusting to life with a second child

Like I said it was hard at first to adjust to Hannah.  We got into such a routine with Mollie that is was hard to have it get messed up.  **Lorin and I decided we are "routine" people**  But Hannah is just awesome, and has been from the start.  She is really chill and relaxed.  When she does cry it can be ear piercing though.  She was pretty fussy in the first 3 weeks as her digestive system was getting used to the formula.  She was gassy a lot and was only happy being held and rocked.

The first week that we had her home she was sleeping about 6 to 7 hour stretches at night (which I knew was too good to be true).  The second week is when her sleeping changed and she would be up 2 or 3 times a night to eat.  By week 5 she was on somewhat of a normal night schedule where she would wake between 3-4am eat, and go back to sleep until 6ish.  Her napping schedule was, and still is, a different story.  She usually takes one good long nap and the rest are just cat naps.  At first it was difficult trying to plan around her naps but now we just go with the flow.

Other then that the first Month is full of eating, sleeping, and pooping....

Meeting Big Sister

Mollie wasn't too sure about Hannah at first but she warmed up to her within a few hours of being home.  In the first couple weeks Mollie would get really jealous here and there when we couldn't give her our full attention, but thankfully Lorin took 4 weeks off so he was able to be with Mollie most of the time while I took care of Hannah.  I thought it was hard just having one baby but when you have a toddler and a newborn an extra set of hands is needed.  It was so weird to bring another baby home.  I have to admit I felt a little bad at first, for Mollie, that she was going to think we didn't love her anymore so we needed to add another child to the family.  But children are awesome and they carry on with life like no big deal...

Hannah is born

**I guess its time to update this blog so I can keep track of Hannah's progress like I did with Mollie.**

Hannah Kathleen Larson
Born 07-14-14
7.6 lbs 20inches
12:46pm

I was induced on 07-13-14 (Mollie's 2nd birthday) at 8:00pm and had Hannah on the 14th at 12:46pm.  Labor and delivery was a long process as usually but everything went great.  The epidural I got this time was horrible.  The Dr had me lay on my side so it took more on one side of my body then the other.  With Mollie the Dr had me bend over so the medicine was more even throughout my body.  Anyway I had 4 pushes through 2 contractions and Hannah was out - super fast.
